Specialty Service
Water-damaged drywall isn't just a cosmetic problem. It's a structural and health issue that has to be resolved correctly — or it comes back. We do it right the first time.
Why Water Damage Is Different
Water damage to drywall is deceptive. What you see on the surface — a stain, a bubble, a soft spot — is almost never the full picture. By the time visible damage appears, moisture has already traveled through the drywall and in many cases into the framing, insulation, or wall cavity behind it.
Our water damage evaluation and repair process is designed to deliver solutions that last, including texture-matched surface that is ready for paint and backed by our written warranty.
How We Handle It
We begin by verifying to the extent possible that the source of the moisture — a roof leak, AC condensation, plumbing failure, or window intrusion is fixed. We do not begin repairs until the source is confirmed resolved. Repairing drywall over an active leak is money wasted.
We remove drywall that is saturated, structurally compromised, or at risk for mold growth — going beyond the visible damage to ensure we've cleared all affected material. We do not skim over soft or questionable drywall. During this step we communicate continuously with our customer so they are aware of any new information available as soon as it is discovered, especially since water damage often has hidden damage not readily visible without removal of material.
Before installing new drywall, we verify that the framing, insulation, and cavity behind the wall are dry. If insulation needs to be replaced, we document this clearly so you can coordinate that work before we close the wall. When needed we can also engage one of our sister companies to provide a turnkey solution that will include any scope of work that extends beyond ours (drywall); this includes insulation, baseboard and trim, framing, etc.
New drywall is cut, fitted, and secured. Joints are taped, mudded, and feathered. We apply the correct number of coats to achieve a flat, seamless surface — no shortcuts on the compound work that determines your final finish quality.
We match your existing texture — whether it's orange peel, knockdown, smooth, skip trowel, or something custom. The repair area blends invisibly with the surrounding wall. We thoroughly inspect from different angles and solicit your approval before we consider the job complete.
We remove all materials, debris, and dust control equipment. Your space is left clean. Your one-year written warranty begins the day we complete the job — covering defects in our workmanship, not future water events.
Common Causes
Clogged condensate drain lines are one of the most frequent causes of ceiling water damage in DFW homes. The damage typically appears directly below the air handler as a ring-shaped stain.
Storm damage, failed flashing, or aging shingles allow water to travel into attic space and down through ceiling drywall. Damage often appears far from the actual roof penetration point.
Burst pipes, slow leaks behind walls, and supply line failures create water damage that can be extensive by the time it's discovered.
